In short

Towndom asks for no email and no password: just a nickname. The game server keeps a technical identifier for your install, that nickname, and your game (shares held, treasury, level, rank) so the game works and remembers you between sessions. The app optionally shows rewarded ads, served by Google AdMob: see “Advertising” below.

What the game server keeps

To run the game, the server ties to an install identifier: your nickname, your shares and treasury, your place in leagues and leaderboards, your badges and missions, and the history of your in-app purchases (a transaction id, never your card details). No email address, no real name, no precise location is ever asked for.

This identifier is not an account in the usual sense: there is nothing to confirm by email, and uninstalling the app does not automatically erase the server-side game until the account expires or a deletion request is made (see “Your rights”).

In-app purchases

Purchases (écus, the no-ads pass, the premium Road Book track) go entirely through StoreKit, Apple’s system. Apple handles the payment and payment methods; Towndom never sees your card number, only the confirmation that a purchase happened.

Advertising

Ads are always rewarded and optional: never on launch, never interstitial, never during a share purchase. They are served by Google AdMob. Before the first ad, a consent form (UMP, GDPR-compliant) appears: you choose what advertising may use, and you can revisit that choice at any time in Profile, “Ad choices”. On iPhone, iOS also asks whether the app may track your activity: you can say no, the app works the same, with the same rewards.

To serve an ad, Google receives technical data: the device advertising identifier, IP address (so an approximate location), device model and system version, and your interactions with the ad. It is used for delivery, measurement and, if you allow it, personalisation. Google publishes what it does with this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

What never leaves our servers

  • Your payment methods: handled only by Apple.
  • Your real name or address: never asked for.
  • Your game is never sold or shared with a third party for commercial purposes.

Children

Towndom is not specifically aimed at children and does not collect more data from them. The ads it shows are limited to general-audience content.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data tied to your nickname by writing to the address below with your in-game nickname. For advertising, review your consent in Profile, “Ad choices”, and reset or remove the advertising identifier in your iPhone settings.
